Mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 60s are on tap for Friday. Daytime temperatures in the low 70s and nighttime temperatures in the high 40s to low 50s are expected for the rest of the weekend.
With any three-day weekend comes a slight increase in crowds, but the parks should still be relatively calm. With a little help from the Frog Family you may be able to zip through your touring plan quick enough to go enjoy some other events happening around Orlando. (Don’t forget to import the Frog Family’s favorite touring plan to your iPhone!)
What’s Hoppin’ Outside the Parks:
Otronicon @ Orlando Science Center
The Orlando Science Center will host Otronicon Friday, Jan. 14 through Monday, Jan. 17. Billed as a celebration of interactive technology, guests will have the opportunity to personally experience the future of the videogame and simulation industry including military and medical simulators typically not available to the public. After taking a look at the website, you’ll see why Tad really wants to go!
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus @ Amway Center
The circus is in town! Lions, tigers, elephants and clowns will move in to the Amway Center from Thursday, Jan. 13 until Monday, Jan. 17. Click here for show times and tickets.
Camellia Show @ Leu Gardens
This Saturday and Sunday, Leu Gardens will celebrate being home to America’s third largest Camellia collection during the Camellia Show. It is well worth the short drive from the theme parks. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for children. (P.S. Leu Gardens is a Frog Family favorite!)
27th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Parade & Festival
Orlando’s official Martin Luther King Parade and Festival will take place Saturday, Jan. 15 at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando. The parade begins at 10 a.m. with the festival to follow around noon. There will be live music, a step competition, food, vendors and a gospel showcase.
