What’s Happening This Weekend
Star Wars™ Weekends 2011 @ Disney’s Hollywood Studios
For the next four weekends, Hollywood Studios will host the ultimate special event for Star Wars™ fans…Star Wars™ Weekends. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until June 12 guests will have the opportunity to meet their favorite Star Wars characters including Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Chewbacca and Anakin Skywalker. Some of your favorite Disney characters will also wear special Star Wars themed costumes. Star Wars™ Weekends 2011 Celebrity Hosts are James Arnold Taylor, the voice of “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and Ashley Eckstein, voice of “Ahsoka Tano,” from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Grab a Star Wars™ Weekends event guide when you arrive at the park to make sure you don’t miss other fun features like the Legends of the Force Motorcade. This weekend, May 20 to May 22, the celebrity lineup includes Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) and Clone Wars Guest, Dave Filoni (Director). Star Wars™ Weekends at Hollywood Studios is included with regular theme park admission.
Re-Imagined Star Tours Opens @ Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Star Tours will officially reopen this Friday, May 20. The new version of this immensely popular attraction will have you gliding along trees with Wookiees on Kashyyyk, kicking up sand across the desert in a podacre on Tatooine and submerging into the lake waters of Naboo. All your favorite characters like C-3PO and R2-D2 will be right by your side to help you get through the galaxy in one piece. If you’re planning to give the new Star Tours a try, you’ll need to arrive at the park at least an hour before opening, grab your FASTPASSes early and be prepared to wait in long lines.
