Walt Disney World Parade Guide: Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
If you are at Disney’s Animal Kingdom during the afternoon, be sure not to miss Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade!
Overview: Rafiki from The Lion King leads Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade in a brightly painted Adventure Rover. Following behind him are classic Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy in customized jeeps. In between the character jeeps, you’ll see stilt walkers, animal puppets, wacky rickshaw taxis and more Disney characters from The Lion King, The Jungle Book and Song of the South. You better be ready to jam…8-foot-tall Party Animals and Party Patrols will make sure you’re pumped up!
Parade Route & Details:
Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade is a daily afternoon parade at Animal Kingdom. The parade usually kicks off around 3:45 p.m. and lasts about 15 minutes. (Check Undercover Tourist’s apps or the Times Guide for a current schedule.)
The parade route begins in Africa (Tusker House Gate), crosses the bridge to Discovery Island where it circles the Tree of Life. For there, the parade crosses the bridge to Asia where it follows the walkway that parallels the river back to Africa. It ends where it began next to Tusker House Restaurant in Africa.
Planning Tips:
Choosing a viewing spot for this parade depends on what your plans are afterward. Since the parade kicks off an hour or so before the park closes, many people plan to exit the park following the parade. The best viewing location for this option is in front of the Creature Comforts
gift shop near the entrance to the Discovery Island trails. There’s seating and a little shade if you’re on the side of the parade route facing The Tree of Life. (Note: This area gets pretty crowded during the parade so you’ll want to grab your spot 30-40 minutes early.)
If you want to do a few attractions after the parade, the best spot is where the parade begins and ends in Harambe Village (near Tusker House Restaurant). That area will be very crowded when the parade kicks off, but what a lot of people don’t realize is that the parade circles back around to this same spot. Wait until about 20 minutes after the parade kicks off then head to that location. The crowd will have dispersed and you’ll get a good view of the whole parade. (Good attractions to do immediately following the parade: Maharajah Jungle Trek, Kali River Rapids or Kilimanjaro Safaris.)
Frog Family Rating:
We LOVE Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade; it’s very energetic and the music has an island-y theme.
There are lots of characters who walk the parade route, so Tad and Lily get up close encounters with some of their favorites like Baloo and King Louie from The Jungle Book, Brer Bear and Brer Rabbit from Song of the South, and Timon and Terk from The Lion King.

Until then, Happy Planning!
