Happy Spring! The spring season has officially begun which means you can expect big crowds, great special events and beautiful weather at the theme parks. Here is Mommy’s Frog’s best advice for planning a spring trip to the parks: Spring Travel Tips for a Theme Park Vacation.
How’s the weather? Isolated thunderstorms and daytime temperatures in the high 80s are expected on Friday and Saturday. What’s Happening This Weekend…
Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
This springtime celebration continues at Epcot this weekend with live concerts, education seminars, loads of Disney Character topiaries and a “plein-air” art festival. The Guess Who will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday as part of the Flower Power Concert Series. Show times are 5:15, 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. at America Gardens Theatre. HGTV’s Jason Cameron (Desperate Landscapes and Man Caves) will show guests how to “work makeover magic on desperate landscapes” during the HGTV Designer Presentation Series. Presentations are Friday through Sunday at noon and 3 p.m. in the Festival Center. It’s also Art in the Garden Weekend featuring “plein-air” artists and their works throughout World Showcase. Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is included with regular theme park admission and continues until May 20, 2012.

Mardi Gras @ Universal Studios
It’s Mardi Gras this Friday and Saturday at Universal Studios! Hot Chelle Rae will perform on the Universal Music Plaza Stage at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23; B.o.B. follows on Saturday, March 24. The Mardi Gras Parade, which begins next to Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show theater, kicks off at 8 p.m. each night. A great place to spend the afternoon and early evening is The French Quarter Courtyard where you can enjoy authentic Cajun food and music by J.J. Caillier & The Zydeco Knockouts. Mardi Gras at Universal Studios is included with regular theme park admission.

Jack Hanna Weekend @ SeaWorld
“Jungle Jack” Hanna returns to SeaWorld this Saturday and Sunday for the annual Jack Hanna Weekend. Highlights include special shows and autograph opportunities. Hanna’s past “co-stars” have included clouded leopards, chatty kookaburra birds and all kinds of majestic eagles. Show times will be at 1:15 and 3:15 p.m. each day in Nautilus Theater. Jack Hanna Weekend is included with regular admission to SeaWorld.
Real Music Concert Series @ Busch Gardens
The Real Music Concert Series wraps up this Friday and Saturday as Busch Gardens welcomes Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis, Jr.. Shows are held at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Stanleyville Theater. The Real Music Concert Series is included with regular admission to Busch Gardens.
LEGO® Friends Weekend @ LEGOLAND Florida
LEGOLAND Florida is hosting LEGO Friends Weekend this Saturday and Sunday. This is a daytime party for girls that includes a LEGO Friends building event, entertainment, games, activities and much more. This first-ever event celebrates girls and their personal individuality, just like the LEGOGroup’s newest line of construction toys. Activities include: Olivia’s “Girls Just Wanna Build” Event, Andrea’s Heartlake Cafe, Stephanie’s Dance Party, Emma’s “That’s So You” Fashion Show (presented by Saks Fifth Avenue) and Mia’s “Mad About Animals” Scavenger Hunt. LEGO Friends Weekend is included with regular admission to LEGOLAND Florida.
