Monstrous Details Revealed for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Plus More News From the Weekend
As your settling in to your Monday morning, I just wanted to send a quick post with a few exciting updates from the theme parks. It was a busy news weekend over in theme park land — especially with the ultimate Disney fan experience, D23 Expo, held Friday through Sunday — but there is lots of other stuff to report as well, so let’s get started!
First up … some super cool news for those of you planning to attend Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party this year. Making their debuts at Magic Kingdom park will be Jack Skellington and Sally from Tim Burton’s “Nightmare Before Christmas.” They will be greeting guests on Main Street U.S.A. Phineas and Ferb will be warming up the crowd ahead of the Boo-to-You! Parade.
Following on the heels of the Monstrous Summer, Mike and Sulley will play hosts to their very own Monstrous Scream-O-Ween Ball dance party on the Rockettower Plaza Stage.
And last, but not least in the Not So Scary category, this year’s party will include more than 220 tons of candy PLUS two trick-or-treat trails in addition to the trick-or-treat stations and perhaps a few surprise treat stations! So … who’s ready for Halloween?
Universal Orlando made news of its own this weekend by officially opening all of Springfield! That’s right, the whole Simpsons land — including the brand new Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl spinning attraction is finally opened. So next time you’re in Universal Studios, take a stroll through Duff Gardens, enjoy a Krusty Burger or a drink at Moe’s Tavern, and then take a spin with Kang & Kodos.
Everyone’s favorite Enchancia princess, Sofia the First, made her very first meet-and-greet appearance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Sunday. For those of you heading to the park soon, Sofia will be greeting guests outside of Disney Jr.
And could it be that Doc McStuffins will be joining them? Doc was on hand for the D23 Expo looking super adorable in her doctor’s gear (and sneakers). Check out the video from our friends at Attractions Magazine!
Whew! It was a busy weekend of announcements, but we are so excited about all of the new experiences at the parks or coming to them very soon!
