Highlights From This Year’s SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration

A few weeks ago, Mommy Frog wrote about the Top 5 reasons SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is so spectacular, and this year was no exception! We hopped over to Orlando this past weekend to visit a few of our favorite holiday events, and here are the highlights (and a few tips) for our night at SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration!

Christmas Tree

The park is fully dressed up for the holidays.

Lily especially loved the gigantic Frosty!

Sea of Trees

The Christmas decorations work so well with SeaWorld’s nautical theme. As the sun goes down, the Sea of Trees cast shadows on the water.

Sunset was quite spectacular. Since it was a busy Saturday night, we got to our viewing spot for the first Sea of Trees show at 6 p.m. before sundown.

Sitting along the waterfront, holding my family close and listening the Christmas tunes, it was worth the wait.

For Sea of Trees, the best viewing spots are along the waterfront near Spice Mill Cafe and inside Bayside Stadium.

For us, it just wouldn’t be a trip to SeaWorld without seeing Clyde and Seamore sea lions! During Christmas Celebration, they do a special show, Clyde and Seamore’s Countdown to Christmas.

O Wondrous Night

O Wondrous Night is one of the most popular shows of the evening. If you are planning on seeing it, we recommend you line up an hour in advance.

If you need a place to rest and recharge your batteries, we recommend the Southwest-sponsored station outside the Nautilus Theater that has a place to plug in phones and tablets plus covered benches.

One of the things I love about SeaWorld Orlando is just how beautifully landscaped the park is, and during the holidays, it comes alive with plenty of lights and Christmas trees.

On Saturday night, waits for The Polar Express Experience were running 45 minutes. If it’s priority, we recommend going earlier in the day, since most of the Christmas shows start in the late afternoon and evening. Alternately, you’ll find shorter waits during the most popular shows, O Wondrous Night and Winter Wonderland on Ice.

Santa Claus

Once you make it to the North Pole, you’ll get to meet Santa. You can also find him (and Mrs. Claus) over at Santa’s Fireside Feast, which is an additional cost (and requires a reservation) and includes an all-you-can-eat buffet and family photo. Don’t forget to bring your list!

Winter Wonderland on Ice

Mommy Frog’s favorite part of the night is Winter Wonderland on Ice. She loves to see all of the amazing ice skating, and the waterfront lights and trees make are the perfect backdrop!

We thoroughly enjoyed our night at SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration. Do you have a tip to share for SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration? Share in comments below!
